I took these photos around sunset at Living Waters Bible Conference campground on Grand Lake in Danforth, Maine.

Around Town

Here are some photos I took around town this weekend after the rain storm. Our corn hasn’t grown very tall yet. The Echinacea is from Teisha’s flower garden.

Last week my wife ran off with my camera and a couple of lenses. She’s a talented photographer in her own right, though with the kids she rarely has time to take photos with anything but her iPod. 🙂 She came back almost an hour later with these incredible images.

One beautiful sunset by an amazing Creator, one seriously crazy ultra-wide angle lens (Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8), half an hour of shooting barefoot in shorts in and around the pond, four hundred photos, six gigs of data, hundreds of swelled up bug bites for several days, thousands of blackflies, mosquitoes, and horseflies, six days of editing […]

Flowers in the rain

Joyce and I took some photos of some tulips and other flowers in the rain. I love photographing flowers on a rainy, overcast day. Colors look very rich with no harsh shadows, and flowers always look fresher with raindrops on them. There are also less bugs buzzing around and getting in the shot! These images […]

The Nikon TC-20E III 2x teleconverter arrived today for my 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. It doubles the focal length (more zoom), but also doubles the effective aperture (less light) turning it into a 140-400mm f/5.6. I’m not sure what happens to Vibration Reduction (VR) performance, but it appears to work just as affectively, i.e. about 4 […]

Out to Pasture

Here is a panoramic I took while out taking a walk last weekend. I didn’t have my tripod with me, but they still stitched pretty well. I had originally shot 5 exposures (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2 EV) for each image, but it was extremely windy and the cows kept moving, so the images didn’t […]

On my way home from a photo shoot in Hermon, Maine, I decided to do a little geocaching. If you’ve never tried the sport before, it’s a lot of fun. You take a GPS and go treasure hunting, looking for a hidden cache that someone else has placed and marked the coordinates to. Or as […]

Framed Rose

I took three of my favorite rose photos from yesterday’s post, and put them in a frame. I like how it turned out! Click to view full screen… Related Posts:Sunset photos at Living Waters Bible Conference campgroundAround TownThe Farmgirl Takes the CameraPond and flowers at sunsetFlowers in the rain

Posting an article I wrote around Valentine’s Day… I just got a very good deal on a factory demo Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens from Cameta Camera (very good company to do business with). There are already plenty of reviews out there on the lens, so I won’t make too many comments about it until I’ve […]
