Milky Way Timelapse Test

Here is a short timelapse I shot of the Milky Way a couple nights ago. The handwarmer I’d wrapped to the lens to prevent dew fell off shortly after I went inside, so the fog on the lens ruined this attempt. It was still a good practice run though for camera settings.

Taken with a Nikon D700, 14-24mm f/2.8 @ 14mm, auto exposure with manual exposure compensation ramping for the first clip (still too much flicker without automated control), then 45 seconds in bulb mode, ISO 3200, f/2.8 for each image in the second clip with a Promote Control. Ten second increments between images.

Here are some still images from the timelapse.
